Protecting Against Phishing

How to identify and avoid phishing attacks targeting your account.

Phishing is when someone pretends to be Cloud Sentrics (or another trusted service) to trick you into giving them your password or personal information.

How to Identify Phishing

Check the Sender

• Cloud Sentrics emails come from @cloudsentrics.org only
• Be suspicious of emails from similar-looking domains (e.g., cloudsentrics-support.com, cloud-sentrics.ng)

Check the Link

• Before clicking, hover over any link to see where it actually goes
• Our login page is always at school.cloudsentrics.org or your custom domain
• Never enter your password on a page that doesn't show the correct URL

Red Flags

• "Your account will be deleted in 24 hours" — we never threaten deletion
• "Click here to verify your identity" — we never ask this via email
• "Send your password to support" — we will NEVER ask for your password
• Poor grammar or spelling in official-looking emails
• Unexpected attachments

What Cloud Sentrics Will Never Do

• Ask for your password via email, phone, or chat
• Send you a link to "verify" your account
• Threaten to close your account unless you act immediately
• Ask you to install software or browser extensions

What To Do If You Receive a Suspicious Email

1. Don't click any links in the email
2. Don't download attachments
3. Don't reply with any personal information
4. Report it — forward the email to security@cloudsentrics.org
5. Delete it from your inbox

What To Do If You Accidentally Clicked

1. Change your password immediately on Cloud Sentrics
2. Enable MFA if you haven't already
3. Check your Activity Log for unauthorized access
4. Notify your admin so they can monitor your account
5. Contact us at security@cloudsentrics.org

Stay Safe

• Bookmark your Cloud Sentrics login page — always use the bookmark
• Enable MFA — even if someone gets your password, they can't log in
• When in doubt, go directly to the site instead of clicking email links
